Why we support vaccinations at St. Luke's
1. In May 2021 over 18,000 lives were lost due to COVID-19 infections, 99% were not vaccinated.
2. In June 2021, over 10,000 were lost, 99.2% were not vaccinated.
Vaccines save lives!
You might say, I have read that people have died or have side effects from vaccinations, and that is true. Almost all of them have been allergies, which can occur in one out of half a million people. That is the reason that you have to wait 20 minutes at the facility after you are vaccinated.
If I get COVID -19, what are my chances to have a severe illness or die?
Of every 100 people that get COVID-19, 20 have a severe illness, and 2 of them die.
And if I take the vaccine, what are the chances of getting a severe reaction or dying?
Severe reactions occur about one person from every half a million to a million. Death is very rare.
These are clearly uncertain times, and being fearful can help you to be alert to danger, but arming yourself with the right information is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones.
The real danger is the virus, not the vaccine.
